IT’S ALL ABOUT LEARNING
One of my teachers likes to say, “the healing continues.” At the moment, I feel like my journey into online educational entrepreneurship via the re-invention of NewMarU.com might be summarized as “the learning continues.”
In another sense, I’m walking my talk with regards to being willing to experiment, try things, and make adjustments based on what I learn.
For those of you who may not have heard, I decided to reschedule and reinvent the four-part online course that I was planning to begin in early May. The live workshop that I did in San Francisco on April 24th was a great success with over 30 people in attendance. And I learned a ton. Everyone got great value and the “loudest” feedback from participants is that they were impressed with how much knowledge I have to share. But I also heard that many of them were overwhelmed with the amount of information I packed into 3 hours. I’m committed to doing even better.
Bottom line, I strongly felt the need to slow down my teaching style in order to make my workshops more experiential and easier to digest on a practical level. I also want to make everything more affordable so that my offerings can reach a wider community.
IF NOT THIS, SOMETHING BETTER
So, I am reinventing the course as well as NewMarU.
I will have more details soon, but by way of a “preview,” here is a bit of my current thinking: I’m planning a small mentoring/accountability group (limited to 12 people max.) that will have weekly demos and homework, so that participants will be guaranteed to make progress with their online marketing. I’m also planning a “First Fridays” live Q&A for Subscribing Members only and many more courses with expert partners.
At the same time, I am in the process of migrating the membership platform upon which NewMarU is built to something that I think will be more engaging, feature rich and easier to use. (For those of you who are technically minded, I’m moving from Wishlist Member to CustomerHub which integrates with Infusionsoft.)
